Camera

Gloss uses your camera to recognize printed text. All processing happens on your device using Apple's built-in text-recognition frameworks. Camera frames are never stored, and never leave your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Gloss has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party services. It makes no network connections. The words you look up are not recorded — not by us, not on your device.

Definitions

Word definitions are provided by the reference dictionaries built into iOS and displayed by the system. Gloss does not see or store your lookup history.

Settings stored on your device

Gloss remembers small preferences — such as whether you've seen the welcome screen — using standard iOS app storage on your device only. This information never leaves your device and is deleted when you delete the app.

Children

Gloss does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If a future version of Gloss ever changes any of the above, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the change will be described in the app's release notes.
